The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) has officially mandated that Occupancy Certificates (OC) are compulsory for obtaining new electricity connections in Bengaluru’s newly constructed buildings. This development stems from a directive by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India issued on December 17, 2024, which emphasized that essential services like electricity, water, and sewage should only be provided to buildings with a valid Completion or Occupancy Certificate.
